Pauline Marks

Ms. Pauline Marks serves as a member to Casa Promesa’s Board of Directors. In addition to her volunteer services to Casa Promesa’s Board of Directors, Ms. Marks also belongs to the Board of Trustee to the American Red Cross-Queens Chapter. She was bestowed the Women of Valor Award by the American Diabetes Association in 1996 and the Regents Award by the American College of Healthcare Executives in 1998.

With over 27 years of services in the Health and Human Services arena, in 1999 she joined the Medisys Health Network/TJH Medical Services, comprising of a Health Network for Jamaica Hospital Medical Center, Flushing Hospital Medical Center and Brookdale University Hospital and Medical Center as its Executive Director. Ms. Marks has an MPA in Health Policy, Planning & Administration from the New York University Wagner School and a B.A. with Honors in Political Science from the New York College of Arts & Science.

In her current role as Executive Director to the Medisys Health Network, Ms. Marks has been instrumental in directing, development, establishment, initiation and implementation of various projects such as:

  • The development of the Operational Reorganization Plan for Brookdale University Hospital and Medical Center;
  • Originated and developed a provider network in Queens consisting of 400 physicians which will be expanding to Brooklyn;
  • Purchased and established a multi-specialty physician practices throughout Queens;
  • Implemented and integrated a managed care strategy for three hospitals and provider network;
  • Initiated new physician compensation agreements for three hospitals;
  • Established IPA and MSO; and
  • Developed a commercial strategy aimed at revenue expansion which consisted of linkage and partnerships with long-term care facilities and community-based organizations which has resulted in an increased market share for each of the 3 hospitals.
