John Del Valle

Mr. John Del Valle was born and raised in New York City’s Bronx County. In 1972 he received a Bachelor of Arts degree, with a concentration in Economics. Upon completion of his studies, he joined Chase Manhattan Bank. During his tenure at Chase, he held various positions of responsibility in the areas of Retail Banking and Small Business Lending.

He joined Banco Popular in 1993 in the capacity of Small Business Lender, and subsequently promoted to Vice President and given the responsibility of the management of the Small Business Group. In 1997, he was reassigned to the Retail Banking Group with the principal task of meeting the financial needs of Banco Popular’s customer base through Sales and Service, and the continued expansion of the branch network.

In 1999, Mr. Del Valle was promoted to Senior Vice President and Retail Bank Manager for the New York region of Banco Popular North America, which consists of 32 branches, 400 employees, and close to 2 billion dollars in deposits. He has recently returned to the lending arena as a Senior Relationship Manager managing a portfolio of accounts based in The Bronx/Manhattan/Westchester communities.

Mr. Del Valle is currently on the boards of the Bronx Overall Economic Development Corporation and Christmas in April in The Bronx. He is married and the proud father of two young men. He and his family continue to reside in the Bronx.
